454 CUBIC INCH LS1
The first step was to make things stronger to allow for more displacement. World built in more beef to the block for vast improvement in strength and rigidity, along with more room for displacement. More cubic inches are always welcome, and the new Warhawk LS1 block is happy to oblige thanks to added strength, especially on the bottom end. Four crankshaft main cap bolts are augmented by another set of cross block bolts to keep the crankshaft spinning in circles, not ovals. Six bolts on each cap (three on either side of the crank) keep things rigid. Maximum safe displacement of the Warhawk LS1 block is a whopping 454 cubic inches!
NO OIL CRISES
The stock oiling system of the block was also improved and relocated, which takes it out of the way of the camshaft. With no interference from the oil passages, lopey lobes and big roller bearing cams are no longer a problem and oil goes where it's needed most.
GOT BOOST?
Big PSI is nothing to worry about thanks to the provision for two extra studs per cylinder for improved sealing. The extra studs keep the heads where they belong when it comes to putting big pounds per square inch into the cylinders. This added clamping force, in conjunction with beefed up bottom end strength and additional displacement, is the recipe for some blown LS1 horsepower.
STOCK INTERCHANGE
Even with all the improvements, interchangeability with stock LS1 components remains. Any stock or World LS1 head bolts up to the Warhawk block, opening up a new world of induction and power building combinations for the LS1 platform.
USE YOUR HEAD
When it comes to cylinder head choices World has stepped up to the LS1 plate with both a stock aluminum replacement casting and the Warhawk LS7x 12-degree head. Both heads feature provisions for two extra head studs per cylinder, with the LS1x heads geared more towards the street, and the LS7x version for the ultimate performance solution. All World LS series heads accept stock or aftermarket manifolds; injected, carbureted, or blown –- take your choice. The LS1x head accepts stock and aftermarket valvetrain assemblies, with .300 of an inch of height added to the valve cover mount for additional clearance.

Best of all, the World LS1 block features mounting bosses for both standard LS1 engine mounts along with stock 1960 to current 3-bolt per side engine mounts. Now you can drop an LS1 into most any GM product you can think of, and probably something you haven't thought of. . .yet.
