I agree with everything regarding the attitudes of the nitro guys. Whenever a new race and purse is announced, the boards react with negativecomments toward the promoter, and how insulted the racershould be to race for peanuts. I understand thatit costs a ton of money to build and run a nitro car,but it isn't written anywhere that you'll be guaranteed to profit or even break even.

Mr. Burk, I have to go along with your feelings on AA/FC andAA/TF... it is a rich man’s hobby, and as such theyshould be happy for a safe place to gather and racethem. And while on the subject, they are becoming more and more expensive asthey stray from what they were in their original form. Just look at the body work... they will all soon be Batmobile style cars. Same with the blowers, mags, and clutches. The AA/TF cars do not look much like the last front engine cars I saw run, now they aremore like long wheel base F/C chassis. And the buy back. Bad idea, the money man will always come out ahead.
Sadly it appears this form of racing is headed in the same direction as mainstream drag racing: the more money you have, the more advanced and costly it will get. The promoters or whoever sanctions these things should implement some strong rules on body work, blowers, pumps and mags. Let those who do not like this format build big show cars... but don’t let them ruin what could be a good thing.

Burke, as usual you have gone off half cocked and don't know the facts. If you would like the real truth, I would be happy to give you an unbiased breakdown of why, when and how the NFCA operates.

Too many entertainment venues spread too thin. And, because of the sanctioning body's attempts to "keep it close," there's little "racing" being done in any of the big sanctions. And the average fan knows this.
Nostalgia racing, radial tire classes and other forms of drag racing currently attract a growing fan base... But there is a saturation point. Or in other words, "Don't get greedy!"
