TOP DRAGSTER PROVIDES UNDERSTANDABLE ALTERNATIVE
NHRA Division 2 will be adopting a Top Dragster class in 2007. Along with the existing 2-year-old TD program in Division 4, I think that this class has the same potential to grow as the TS class does. In fact, it is my opinion that these two classes offer an "understandable" sportsman class for spectators at NHRA national events (as opposed to Super class racing). The idea of 6-second sportsman doorslammers and dragsters is something that the average fan can appreciate, enjoy and perhaps aspire to. No throttle stops, just wide open racing.

Re: Getting Rid of Super Classes
Your idea of the Top Sportsman/Dragster and two dial classes makes great sense and would be great to watch.

DRAGSTOCK WAS ONE OF A KIND
Jeff, truer words have never been spoken. As a young man and diehard enthusiast, I feel honored to have witnessed Dragstock III first hand. Just weeks ago I was on the guardrail at the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals for the first time in my life - it was an amazing experience. However, it can't even begin to compare to my experience a few days ago in Rockingham.
As a former track operator, I fought on a daily basis to get 1/8th mile racing the attention it deserves. Every day I heard someone tell me that 1/4 mile racing is the only thing fans care about, that you have to have nitro to draw a crowd, etc.
Kenny Nowling and his ADRL forever changed the face of drag racing and event promotion. I've never seen anything like it and I'm hesitant to say that I'll ever see it again.
Keep up the good work!
