CHANGE THE PROGRAM

After watching approximately 3 hours of the NASCAR 600 race on Sunday May 28th, NHRA does not have a clue!

I'll make it simple - Wednesday through Friday, qualify all classes; Saturday, FINALS FOR ALL SPORTSMAN! Sunday ALL Pro classes.

If NASCAR can do it in 5 hours I am sure NHRA could do it with Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock car and bike.

Does this mean they may have to do away with Super Street, Super Gas and Super Comp? No, they would be at the sportsman events.

It's time for NHRA to trim the fat, go big time and showcase their heavy hitters in prime time.

FOLLOW-UP TO AXIOM #49...

This is Gary, Karen (Stoffer's) husband. I think for the most part (Jim Hawkins's axiom) is true but in Karen's case I don't, at least this time. She usually is very consistent on the tree, as you know, because she does not think about it. But this time I opened my big mouth while she was in the staging lanes and told her, 'Don't go red. You have to squeeze the clutch lever very hard this time,' and, well, we all know what happened. I take all the blame. I know you should never say something like that to a driver before they run.

Gary

See, my theorem holds true. Her reaction times were on everyone's mind for the next round. Thus in general will cause an inconsistent and usually a poor light. This begets Axiom #51...never tell a driver NOT TO redlight before a run...especially in the staging lanes! -- Jim Hawkins
