'NO' TO LIVE TV
No to 1st round on Saturday, and forget live TV, Jeff. Even if the turnaround was 45 minutes it probably would not work. Three rounds only on Sunday, forget that. I for one do not mind at all being there all day. I get my money's worth for sure. Yes, I do think the oil-downs drag the show, but as long as there is nitro in the tank that is the nature of the beast. Fan since 1965 with over 100 shows at Lions under my belt.

ANOTHER 'NO' TO LIVE TV
NA$CAR has rain delays that can last up to 3 hours long yet folks will still stick around to see the race, aka "Follow the leader".
I agree something needs to be done to stop the majority of oil-downs, but to be honest, tape delay broadcasts are fine with us.

WONDERING IN RHYME
Toiling with oiling gets my blood boiling.
Drag racing can take advantage of the down time, show taped delayed sportman rounds from Thursday and Friday, SS cars wheel standing, perhaps Pro Mods. This would fill any gap, get sportsman TV time, show case other classes of our sport, perhaps draw sponsors! So the limiter kills another motor. . .down time, the director yells roll that beautiful sportsman footage. Can it be done? Economics? Don't know, just wondering.

TAKING REHER TO TASK
I am commenting on David Reher's recent comments on Pro Stock racing. Being a racer and fan let me comment on two things that I think are completely wrong.
The first is the cars. I believe that if the NHRA or IHRA made it mandatory to use stock bodies on the cars there would be a renewed interest in the class. Just because NASCAR does it doesn't mean it won't work for NHRA. I believe interest is so low right now for this class because there is absolutely nothing the average Joe can relate to in the class. This change would promote brand recognition and encourage factory involvement.
The second item is David's concern about electronic fuel injection. Like Warren Johnson says, "The only thing that doesn't have fuel injection is a weed whacker." Think about it. This flat hood would go hand in hand with the stock look and also improve the performance and reliability of the class. It would also help the average racer like me who runs a carb because EFI is too expensive to sort out and no one knows how deal with it.
I believe only these two things will really make the class interesting again and bring the fans back to appreciating it.

TRACK SAFETY SPEC
If there can be an SFI spec for just about every part of a drag racecar, why is there no SFI Spec on track surfaces and track prep? Love your Mag!
