NOTHING WRONG WITH REV-LIMITERS

Since you think the RL's are killing Fuel racing, would you assume responsibility for a tire failure at 340 MPH? I wouldn't! Frankly more side by side passes makes for a more entertaining show IMO. I've been to 4 NHRA races thus far and other than the early Sat. sessions, the qualifying's been good. The oil-downs are much less then they were 5 years ago. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see a 4.30 TF pass or a 4.62 FC run. But considering how much the crew chiefs hate this new tire, I bet they don't care to go 338-340 either.

IT'S THE PUMP, STUPID

Burk, you big ninny! Stop blaming the racers, they follow the stupid rules. Change the rules and there will be less explosions. Parts are much better than even two years ago, so it's not a parts problem...it's the pump! Dummies...get back to 100% with a smaller pump -- problem solved.

RAH-RAH FOR REID

It was nice having Marty Reid back in the booth for the Vegas event. You never appreciate someone or something until it is gone. Marty knows drag racing and comes across as enjoying it and talks enough to keep you informed but not take away from the action on screen. Paul Page does not have the knowledge nor passion to be the lead announcer for NHRA on ESPN. Why wasn't Bill Stephens given a shot to work with Mike Dunn? (He was in Gainesville because I just saw the Pro Mod coverage last week on ESPN2.) By the way, Marty did a very good job on the IRL broadcast from Homestead during a very rough time after driver Paul Dana was killed earlier in the morning before the telecast. Paul Page is just a fish out of water.

SMALLER ENGINES MEAN LESS SPEED

Why not decrease the cubic inch maximum engine size for Top Fuel and Funny Cars to slow the cars down?

BURK'S RIGHT ABOUT ONE THING AT LEAST

Don't agree with much you say but on this note I do truly believe that you hit the nail on the head about Pro Stock and Pro Mods -- "Just Wondering: For the truly hardcore fan (including yours truly) aren't IHRA, NHRA or ADRL Pro Mods or Pro Stockers more exciting to watch than nitro classes?"

As a confirmed nitro-junkie I can't believe I'm saying this, but at least in Pro Stock and Pro Mod fans know there is a good chance to see records broken and see side-by-side qualifying and elimination passes.
