BLUE BLAZER CORRECTION

Hi guys, and thanks for the story on the Chuy’s Fuel Altered Classic. One thing I have to correct, though, is that the low ET and best speed of the event for NOSTALGIA FUEL ALTERED went to us, The Blue Blazer AA/FA, (driven by myself, Brett Hankins, and tuned by my Dad Bob) and we were also awarded the drum of PRO NITRO FUEL given out by John Keagley and Dale Pulde or Pro Nitro. Low ET for 1st round (Nostalgia) went on to run low ET of 1st round (transformer) and the winner got the Wally. Then low ET for second round got the barrel of fuel. So my 6.69 @ 215.94 was the number that took that prize.

I just wanted that to be put in the results if at all possible because my Dad did an outstanding job tuning our car to run the best number like that. And we made it there on scraping together gas money and fuel, and were given plugs and oil by our local Napa. So for us to go out there and run low ET and best MPH against fully funded and sponsored cars I think was very exceptional to say the least. I am very proud of my Dad for his tuning abilities, and I just REALLY hoped you guys would write some about it!!! Thank you SO VERY MUCH!!

BRAINS BEHIND THE BRAWN

I was reading the article about Claude Lavoie and wanted to add that John Russell, who is the brains behind the awesome engines that have allowed Claude to continually set and re-set the Nostalgia A-fuel E.T. and speed records (6.14/235), will continue as crew chief/engine builder.

KEEP IT MOVING

DUMP THE PRO-MODS AND THE BIKES, MAKE IT A T/F, F/C, P/S SHOW. Fans hate the long wait between rounds that are filled with bracket races they don't understand.

THE REAL THING

Just a note to add to my *NO* vote about replacing PS with PM. HELL NO! I want to watch real cars. As far as I am concerned the PM's are just junior funny cars.

RIGHT ON

Burk, I agree with every word! I have heard rumors that one of the sanctioning bodies was changing over to 1/8 mile next year? I also agree with what Paul Romine had to say. I attended my first ADRL event this year and I loved it and it was an 1/8-mile event! I know I love the feel of the nitro cars and I don't care if they're crossing the finish line at 300 mph or 330 mph if it means the safety of the drivers.

BRISTOL, SCHMISTOL

(Will Hanna) left Bristol out of The Div. 2 schedule. I think they will have a Div. event this year.

EVER HEARD OF COMIC RELIEF?

I think this (John Force cartoon) is a poor joke. John could have been killed.

A LITTLE SLOWER, BUT A LOT SAFER

Said it before...Go to an all-injected 100% nitro top fuel & funny car show... We'll regress a little on E.T. and speed, but the racing will be safer and a bunch cheaper... 50 funny cars and 50 top fuelers at most all races, don't get any better... Schumacher and Force could have 8/10 cars in each class... Be a bunch of affordable fun... And a good side by side show.
