WHAT IF?
Will we see a new trend in professional category’s attendance in the future? With a couple of the pro teams missing a few events with all the back to back weekly events held recently and tight funds, I wonder how the new Pro point structuring will affect future sponsorship contacts. What if major sponsors only want to fund teams till Indy with an extension bonus depending on whether or not the team made the top eight cut off and another contract extension based on a car making the final four for the championship?
We might start seeing teams without full year funding pulling out at the end of the season to regroup for the next year. I'm also curious how the final four will correspond to the final points standings. Could you see a racer that makes the final four and loses first round each race have less points than some racer that failed to make the final eight but goes on a hot streak? Does this racer remain outside of the top eight in points even though they might have earned enough to place in the top four?

INSIDE INFO

Thank you, Burk, for letting all of us know how this HD Partners thing is a total inside job. It’s very obvious now, we as racers are in big trouble.

WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
I don’t know about anyone else but I tried to watch King of the Strip on Sunday and it was a total waste of time. I thought I was watching an episode of pinks. This is in my opinion a terrible way to promote the sport of drag racing. I can not believe TJ and Mel would even want to be associated with this kind of garbage. Just one man’s opinion.

PLAYING POLITICS?
90% Nitro in '08? You mean after 1 FULL season as Nitro liaison (or whatever his position is) to the NHRA it takes him over a year to get a simple rule change? Either Mr. Olson has far less influence with NHRA or Compton/Light is more bureaucratic than Congress!
