NEED WHEELIE BARS

Jok, I think you wrote a great article, and I agree with all most all of it, But I have an A/SA 1969 Camaro that I foot brake; I have worked on my car very hard with suspension and other things and you need wheelie bars on them, so this is one area I disagree with you on. Honestly I do not like wheelie bars ether, but it is better than tipping the car over.

Thanks.

IDOL WORSHIP

Jok, you’re my idol!!!!!!! Out of the 50,000 articles I have read in the past years I have been S/SS racing, this was the best yet. When you need entry fee money to run for president, let me know. I really appreciate your input into this subject.

Thanks, your old dumb buddy,

NO DELAY

My name is Tom Randall. I run a car in GT/AA. I enjoyed (Jok’s) articles on Super Stock/Stock. I say no to delay boxes. In fact, why even have trans brakes to begin with? I think Stock/Super Stock should be strictly foot-brake racing. I also think the Modified cars belong in Comp. I've had friends go to watch races and after a Super Stock session they come up to me and ask, What's up with those hood scoop cars? They don't look like a regular Super Stock car. And they don't have to deal with antique carbs, heads, and factored HP. To tech those cars all they have to do is weigh it, check the carb, and pump the engine. Most of the guys running them have deep pockets and can afford to run in Comp.

Thanks and keep up the good work.

KEEP IT ON THE BOTTOM

How about a box that only works from .099 to .000? That way you still leave off the bottom bulb. I just think top bulb racing takes away from a driver that works hard honing his skills for years to perfect bottom bulb racing.

TAKE A LOOK AT FUEL INJECTION CARS

I agree with almost everything in your article. I would only suggest that most of the fuel-injected cars are way out of line with regards to h.p. rating. Take note of these cars. At No Problem SPORTSnationals, many of these cars only ran to the 1,000-foot light and shut it down. This was done to not go too far under their bogus index. They should have more h.p. added a long time ago. The next thing NHRA should do is lower everybody's index 1/2 second, give or take a tenth or so. This would help make it a safer race and not too many racers would lock up the brakes on the big end and crash.

The buttons and the delay boxes should go. It is ruining racing as we know it. Thirty years ago racing was so much fun. You had a tenth of a second cushion and the last round was no break-out! That was fun!!!! Thirty-two car fields were good as well. Just my thoughts.
