THE VIDEO VIEW

Jeff, I believe your position is a good one and justified by the past accidents in the Pro Categories. The fastest and best short term cure is to slow the cars down and possibly shorten the track to 1000 ft. Both, together, is BEST, until the tire and chassis problems are FIXED. The fans and sponsors will still get their money's worth of nitro, speed, and excitement. I also don't believe it will hurt TV ratings either. TV is TOO sensational and extreme oriented as it is! People are "just dying" to get on TV.

Yours truly...

IT’S NOT GOING TO BE WALLY’S NHRA

I think that the sale of the nitro series was planned to happen prior to Wally Park’s death. He had gotten all he could over the years to promote NHRA drag racing as he knew it when it was a sportsman series. Today’s nitro series is not really a race at all.

SAFETY STARTS WITH THE TRACK SURFACE

I agree with the comments about tracks and track safety need to start first! Not only the rough surfaces as mentioned but, my God man, some national tracks don't even have a track drier! I was at a Divisional Points meet in Ohio with all classes running and no track drier? Another central Ohio track not only had a track drier at the points meet they ran it between the start of each class! The days of dragging old tires or asking for tow vehicles to drive up and down the track are over.

Think about it, why do all the races start with Stock or Super Street? Could it be that the track isn't right and there is a lesser chance of a wreck if the slower cars go out first? If nothing else why can't there be a divisional track drier that travels from point meet to points meet for the tracks that don't have a drier? If everyone is concerned about safety then start at the track and the surface!

HIGH OLD TIMES

Jeff, glad to see someone has the balls to call it as it is maybe some good will come out of this. I just can’t imagine how anybody can keep up with the cost of drag racing. Hell, I would have to go back to hauling pot to ever race again, and many of the early funny cars had to in order to keep going. Drag racing is in for a big change as corporate America is taking over. Good luck and call them as you see ‘em.

WE ALL CARE

Jeff, you hit this thing right on the head. I know when I was out there NHRA made rule changes and like them or not, you adhered or stayed home.

Good work and thanks for caring about our sport.
