Bandimere Speedway also hosted four nostalgia Top Fuel Dragsters at the Night of Fire and Thunder.  Making the mile-high trek were John Rodeck’s “Paso Posse” who shares tuning decisions with former NHRA World Champ Gary Beck, Jim Murphy’s WWII Racing dragster, Mike McLennan driving Mike Fuller’s “Forever Young” and Rick White driving the Neil and White Racing Top Fueler.

Two passes were planned for each dragster with Mike Chrisman
striking the tires at the hit of the throttle running an off-pace 9.713
ET while Rick White recorded a strong 6.034/254.66.

Murphy then logged a 6.080/209.14 beside McLennan’s 7.415/136.17.  The two quickest cars then paired up for a second and final run.

Jim Murphy’s car slowed to an 8.691 allowing him a great view of Rick White’s (near lane) excellent high altitude, low elapsed time of the event at 5.981/259.01.
