The Accufab Street Nationals at Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, Calif., delivered the quickest and fastest laps ever courtesy of the turbocharged Nova driven by Greg Seth-Hunter and Randy Walker’s nitrousized El Camino.

Seth-Hunter’s ten-wide tired, turbocharged Nova recorded a stellar 211.66 in qualifying for that class and Randy Walker continued his domination of the fast street cars with a PSCA record timing of 6.296 with some tuning help from legendary Pro Mod nitrous racer Charles Carpenter who flew in from the east. Unfortunately, Walker was unable to back up that ET to set the official record.

This last regular-season PSCA event drew full fields in most of the classes as the PSCA racers get ready for the “big one,” the Fall Nationals Oct. 16-17 at Las Vegas.

Randy Walker had his nitrous oxide-injected, big block-powered El Camino dialed into the track during qualifying, ripping off an outstanding pass of 6.269 at 222.22 mph that guaranteed him the number-one qualifying spot. The team maintained that edge in performance all through eliminations and defeated the 2008 PSCA Pro Street Champ in the final round.

Others that qualified into the top half of the field included the second qualifier Tim Henry’s Conquest Construction Pontiac Trans Am with a 6.354/221.09 and Mike Bell who drove Mike Maggio’s car into the third qualifying slot with a respectable 6.541, 218.80 mph.
