Pennsylvania racer Elliott Thompson was at The Rock with this twin turbo Outlaw 10.5 car and qualified third with a 4.68. Thompson, who won the NSCA Super Street championship in 2006, runs a 370 SBC with twin Turbonetics Y2K ball bearing turbos, a Bruno/Lenco and a Motec engine management system.
David Waits of Winder, GA, (above) showed up to run Limited Street in this late model Camaro that ran every bit as good as it looked. Waits qualified just .003 behind Keith Szabo and was still in contention with Szabo, Darrin Hoyle and Jeff Paulk when the event was called.
