The fives were wild for normally poker-faced Pro Mod Nitrous ace Jim Halsey at the Oct. 4-5 Al-Anabi Shakedown at E-Town Outlaw doorslammer extravaganza.

He showed his hand to the rest of the players in the Shakedown and E-town game held at Englishtown, New Jersey's Old Bridge Township Raceway Park with a 5.998-second pass that was the first for a nitrous Pro Mod car. Then he laid down four of a kind -- a string of 5.9-second performances with an eye-popping 5.958 in the semifinals -- during Sunday eliminations to claim the $20,000 jackpot in the Speedtech Pro Outlaw Nitrous class.

"I won the 50th anniversary of the U.S. Nationals," Halsey, of Street, Maryland, said, "and this feels 10 times better than that!"
