Aaron Tremayne has certainly become the class of the Australian Pro Stock bracket since the season started little on a month ago. After he and brother, Tyronne locked up low ET, top mph, winner and runner up between them at the AC Delco race Aaron then made it to his second final in as many weeks. There he faced John Barbagello and his 7.16/190.11 not only wrapped up the race but gave him low ET and top mph at the same time. He now leads the championship over brother Tyronne by some 90 points.

The fortunes of Pro Stock bike have swung one way and now the other with only six entries making it to the race. Callum Godeassi (far lane) faced the seriously named Evil Weston in a finals battle of the Suzukis. This saw Weston take a hole-shot
(.425 to .481) off the line but Godeassi had caught him by the 60 foot mark and just extended it with a winning with a 7.221/178.36 that more than covered 8.137 /125.28.

Final qualifying on Saturday evening sees Scott Porter’s GT 500 Mustang being backed up in front of an unusually small crowd. Like in America the Nationals is THE race of the year but obviously a number of factors have seen Australia’s greatest drag race fall from grace and I think a major date change is needed to get it back to where it use to be. By the way Porter qualified with a best of 7.26 and went through to the semis before falling to a John Barbagello hole-shot – a 7.28 beating a 7.27.
