Southwest Junior Fuel Assn. Finals
The Southwest Junior Fuel Association wrapped up their first season at Texas Raceway as part of the 5th annual BHRA Nationals in honor of he late Bill Hilscher. Fourteen dragsters showed for the event and the eight fastest made up the A Field, with the last six in the B Field.
Keith Breazeal, who had dominated the first three events, held a 45-point lead over Steve Dunkin going into the final race of the season. Although he was eliminated in the first round by Rick Huckabee, Breazeal maintained his points lead and won the Championship. |
Dallas racer Odie Coker qualified No. 1 at 4.83/141. Coker beat Chuck Rearick and Ricky Marshall to meet Robert Donovan in the final. |
