Current PSCA Pro Street Champion Steve Paulauskis (above) and the Team Transit Mix Inc. Cavalier stamped their authority on the West Coast Hot Rod Association Orme Brothers Racing under the Stars event at Speedworld Raceway Park in Surprise, AZ, when they crossed the finish line clearly in the lead but without any ET or MPH results on the scoreboard. The Transit Mix team were disappointed when they reviewed the car’s data logger and saw they had been denied a record due to the time faux pas when the final run showed incremental times that would have resulted in a 6.39-second pass.
Mike’s Transmission Pro Street runner-up Randy Walker took the loss gracefully as he had problems of his own shortly after half-track. “I reckon we pulled another rocker stand and that was the flash of fire you all saw. Steve and I have a win each here now; the finals in September are going to be interesting.”
Paulauskis bested the turbo Mustang of Giuseppe Gentile in the first round
for the event Low ET of 6.412 as well as sitting on the pole for a perfect weekend.

Outlaw 10.5 only had two cars but it was number two man, local racer Rod Oxford (shown), who turned the tables in the final on Slim Zeinaty. Zeinaty, who is fast coming to grips with the class, ran a distinctly off the pace 10.115 to hand the win to Oxford who was one of three Chuck Roberts Nitrous-supported cars in the finals. Oxford now has a win in both True and Outlaw 10.5 at his local track in 2007.
