Mike Bell brought his ’97 Firebird all the way from Ashboro, NC, to run with the PSCA regulars. His 7.059/198.76 qualified him in the Pro Street class at No. 6. Seldom seen on the PSCA circuit this year, Randy Walker’s ’74 El Camino qualified No. 2 in Pro Street with a 6.767/207.94.
The Outlaw 10.5 final saw Rod Oxford of Surprise, AZ, getting the win in a nitrous-injected ’66 Chevy II at 7.49/188.23 over Greg Seth-Hunter’s 8.254/160.92 in a turbocharged ’70 Nova. Don Bever of Tucson, AZ (near lane), defeated Adrian Duron of El Paso, TX, for the Hot Street win. Bevers’ Probe turned in an 8.784/154.81 (.018 RT) to the 8.804/154.74 (.012 RT) for Duron’s Ford
