Booher was able to pull out the holeshot win with a 6.226/224.77 against the quicker but losing 6.133/223.49 pass by Stuart, FL's Larry Dripps. With Matthew Gilmore losing what seemed to be an oil pump belt during the burnout, Gambino was given a freebie into the semis, where his 2000 Avenger was able to drive around Logan with 6.234/231.66 to Logan's 6.317/218.87. Booher broke, helping to advance Marks into the final round to pair up with Gambino.
Marks had Gambino covered in the finals with a better reaction time and a 6.130 at 225.05 to Gambino's 6.240 at 231.60 mph pass.
AUTOMATIC OUTLAW

This year fans saw a new class for the event, Automatic Outlaw, which competed at an eighth mile. The class was made up of torque converter-equipped cars and trucks only with one power adder and no weight or cubic inch limit. The class saw 27 entries attempting to qualify for the 16-car field.
Rob Wells was second with a 4.226 at 170.48 mph pass. Ronnie Davis went 4.244/173.41 in his '63 Corvette to reach third and Ray Chavez ran a 4.262/167.75 mph to wind up fourth. With a 4.539/156.71 pass by Jon Adams on the bump, 11 cars were packed up and headed home.
Bobby Burgett, Ray Chavez, Tom Stringer, Jimmy Stoupas, Davis, Christian, Ray Schuler and Jim Kolbrick edged out there first round opponents. In the second round Davis broke, handing Kolbrick a round win. Christian then drove around Stringer's .022 light with a 4.238 at 173.41 mph run.
Chavez's 4.303/168.13 pass easily defeated Stoupas's in-trouble 2.112 reaction time and 6.741/93.45 attempt.
In the third round, Chavez, driving a ’98 Firebird, stomped Christian with a 4.295/168.66 run, while Kolbrick had his chance at a -.015 red light against Schuler. A battle of the Ray's in the final saw Schuler drive around Chavez's .049 reaction time with a 4.262/169.71 victory lap.
OUTLAW 10.5
The Outlaw 10.5" Tire class, which also allows a 18.5" maximum width DOT tire, was lead by Deerfield Beach, FL, resident Conrad Scarry's tear of 6.866 seconds at 206.42 mph. Bryan Markiewicz, from Seminole, FL, and Ryan Wetherington, from Oakland Park, FL, both in Camaros, earned second and third places, respectively, with 7.09-second runs.
