Junior Pippin added to his Pro Stock points lead with the win when final round opponent James Surber turned on the red light. Pippin has an insurmountable 1121 points to Greg Krenik’s 800. Pippin has announced that he will run with the NHRA next year.

“We’ve had a really great season,” Pippin said. “Between winning our fourth-straight AHDRA title and qualifying in our very first NHRA race last week (at the World Finals), 2007 has been a dream year.”

Greg Krenik is closer in Pro Modified points trailing Randy Borho by only 34 points going into the final race. At Pomona Borho fouled in the final round, handing the win to the Corrales, New Mexico, racer.

Douglas Horne came all the way from Aberdeen, Maryland, to get the Pro Fuel win. His 6.771 at 205.98 mph bested John Breckenridge’s 6.861/203.25. Jay Turner took the championship with a commanding lead over second place Armon Furr.

Hector Arana from Milltown, Indiana, won the Pro Gas class with a 7.229/182.11 to 7.929/132.79 final against 2006 champ Mike Lozano. Here he runs against Matt McKibbon.

It looks like San Antonio’s Mike Lozano will lose that number 1. David Feazell (far lane) has the points lead and Lozano is currently at number 5.
