Phil Read and David Grubnic squared off in a consolation race after the Top Fuel final. Reed took the win after Grubnic threw the blower at the 60 foot mark.
Steve Read was still waiting on parts for his own car so he got behind the butterflys of the Wesco car but never really got the car down the track for a representative time although this launch looked pretty good.
Bob Shepherd had some engine problems and torched it off just off the starting line.
