As a side note, Robert Reihl of Top Fuel fame helps tune for Jeff and just got back from the Spokane AHRA World Finals where he won Funny Car Eliminator.
Unfortunately, neither Daebelliehn’s nor Bennett’s car was able to return for round two and part of John Keigley's rules was that in order to win this event you had to be one of the two quickest cars and face each other in the final round. That put Rich Howell and James Generalao into the final round matchup.
ALCOHOL

After two rounds of the alcohol altereds, Gil Valencia was the quickest of the breed at a fine 7.27, while Chuck Craddock cranked out a 7.32 at 184 mph. Both Jim Holtz (above) and Steve Moore, driving the Stone Nutz car (below) tuned by Eddie Flournoy, ran 7.42’s.

Stormy Byrd and Rick Ackerman were on hand. Both modified roadsters running on alcohol ran mid-8's as they were just feeling out the cars. Rick’s car is the old Wyer and Jennings piece, while Stormy found his “Revolution” roadster, which used to belong to Bill Erle in the mid 1960's.
First up in round two as just about everyone in the show hopped it up, but it had also cooled down about 10 degrees so the track wasn't quite the same, so the cars became totally Fuel Altereds in round two. In a classic 1970's style side by side first up was the famed "Nanook" against Mike Sullivan's Fiat.
