| After three months of work, defending ORSCA EZ Street champion Shane Stack has completed the switch from nitrous to turbo power adding and debuted the results at MMP. His Huntsville, AL-based ’86 Monte Carlo now carries an R&R Racing Engines 436 with the new turbo plumbed and installed by Stack. It’s the same basic engine as the nitrous combination, Stack said. “All we really did was change the cam and piston to lowere the compression to 8.5:1 from 13.9:1,” he said. Alan Dudley provides tuning expertise for the new combo that went 5.492 in qualifying, good enough for 8th place, “and we’re not even pushing it here,” Stack said. “There’s lots more in it.” | |
