The show put on by the Outlaw Anglias is a firm favourite with the Bulldog crowd and organisers. Spectacular launches, as exemplified here by former NHRA tourist Al O’Connor and his venerable Super Gasser are all part of the package…
… and long fogbank burnouts are another, this tire-fryer in front of the packed grand-stands being produced by Frank Griffin in his chopped and channelled Pop motivated by a blown methanol burning early Hemi.

The California Kid Fuel Altered of Clive Mechael is another Bulldog stalwart, with revised chassis regs preventing more regular appearances for one of the longer serving AA/FA’s in the UK (the swoopy aero bodywork being slightly misleading). Mechael unfortunately didn’t look like threatening his low six second PBs on either of his two runs over the weekend.

The Bulldog demos are all about putting on a show, and the Fireforce jet funny car team certainly know all about pleasing the crowd. Side-by-side jet passes in the UK are rare occurrences, but Martin Hill (left) and Tony Baker (right) orchestrated by frontman Richard are veterans at whipping up a storm.
Last, but by no means least in this brief photo essay, is Eric Teboul and his fabulous H2O2 rocket bike. Having developed a new source of fuel over the winter, Teboul blasted out two stunning passes at the Bulldog despite running into a stiff headwind. The first pass produced a 5.873/197 time ticket, with the eighth mile clocks being passed at 3.769/221.95. The second run was a 5.757 at only 198 mph was preceded by half track numbers of 3.697/216.98 on his final pass. Teboul plans to extend the fuel tanks over the winter to nudge ever closer to a full pass (the current ones limit the thrust to 1000 feet) and into the low five second bracket. Mind-boggling stuff – but then that’s what the Bulldog is all about.
