

Chris Krabill makes his checkout passes in former Alcohol Dragster Champion Gary Turner's "Pedaler" Plymouth Arrow, now sporting a Kenny Youngblood-designed Santini paint job. Rookie driver Krabill ran a best of 6.23/229 mph with Jeff Gaynor assisting on the tune-up.

Former CIFCA driver Steve Romanazzi tests his new Chrysler-powered nitro Vega flopper with some half track passes. Romanazzi recently changed from an Alan Johnson Olds that was outlawed by Goodguys rules.
Over 500 1972 and earlier vintage drag racers have pre-entered for the drag racing portion of the March Meet, which features 14 different classes of competition. Joining in are hundreds of hot rodders who have entered their rods, customs and classics in the Show & Shine.
At the March Meet, Grand Marshall "Big Daddy" Don Garlits will be on hand all weekend signing autographs and making exhibition runs with his restored "Swamp Rat" 1-B dragster. Garlits is the winningest Top Fuel driver in the history of the March Meet, and Goodguys will honor him in a starting line ceremony Sunday morning, March 12, at 9:45 a.m.
