Longtime friend and fellow Mopar racer, Bruce Kaul, got a tough draw in Round 1 of the Race of Champions, but it was only a couple thousandths at the stripe as Jeggie start his march to the final round.
Finally, they got everyone together for the Race of Champions picture. Each racer got special awards and just getting that many killer bracket racers in one spot was inspiring to me. They race all over the country but in November they come to Moroso’s 5-Day…how cool is that.
Now here are nine diehard racers. These guys have raced at EVERY 5-Day event. That is 25 5-Day events, that is 125 events at Moroso. I don’t know them all, even though I wish I did. I did know Larry Ericksmoen, Wally Higby, George Rupert, Ron Folk, Randy Folk and David Rampy. If you think you are a dedicated racer…..think again.
We lost the Thursday (Day 4) event to a heavy rain storm that rolled in. We did find Trevor, third generation Nicholson, learning the track drying procedure so we could get back to racing. Good job Trevor, just a little more water to get rid of and we are ready to go!
