JE Pistons' Quick Street was dominated by Fred Caufield and his awesome Nova all season but once again Caulfield was not in the final. Jay Schmidt’s 1932 Purple Ford Sedan annexed the Eliminator with an 8.941/114.62 mph. while runner up was Glenn Jefferson.
The ACT Bracket #1 class was won this weekend by Greg Martin and his little Vega, which ran a fine 9.957/141.88 mph over Randy Lazarus's 1937 Chevy, which ran 9.041/143.88 mph. The overall winner for 2006 was Ryan Jones, though.
Extreme Speed Trophy class is always a very large turn out of a variety of vehicles. One of the quicker ones was the Dodge Ram of Marvin Roles, which turned in a strong 10.301/122.11 mph to defeat Shane Winder at 17.192 and 80 mph.

CRT Index was not only "wrapped up" by Mark Rapp, but driving the Tim Deal Nova he also won this event with times of 10.618/125.02 mph over Yom Easterly's Mopar. Leonard Massey's Mopar was Low ET.
The largest class is without question Orme Bros Open Comp, and Orange County’s Mike Nordahl with his hot little black Vega garnered just enough points to win the trophy for 2006. Brian Webber's Camaro, still with Alaska license plates, won this event at 10.052/118.77 mph over a very game Darrell Lynne’s 10.050/134.55 mph.
