
Her vision of getting back into a Funny Car won’t disconnect her from Pro Mod, nor will it keep her away from the class. She still plans on supporting the R2B2 Pro Mod team and cheering them on.

“I’m definitely going to be involved in the team aspect of it. Now, having driven these cars and gotten to know a lot of the guys over here, it always makes it more exciting to follow the class,” she said.
Melanie Troxel’s passion for the class and the car are hard to miss. The passion she has for high speeds and racing is even stronger, as shown by her career. She has raced in many cars and classes over the years and, though she’s had some rough spots in her career, she keeps a positive attitude and keeps on pushing.
Her advice to any girl looking to start racing is simple. “Persistence is the biggest thing that I’ve found. If this is something you really want to do, you keep coming back, even if doors get shut in your face and things fall apart.”![]()
