The Drag Racing Association of Women have been in demand more than ever in the 2011 drag racing season. The organization has been providing aid to a record number of families this year.
At the same time the organization has been hosting fundraisers like the annual Florida Golf Tournament held in Gainesville, Florida; the Spring Auction held in Englishtown, New Jersey; the Annual Pet Contest held in Reading, Pennsylvania; and the Annual Fall Auction held in Dallas, Texas.
This year was the first year for the annual auction held the popular E-Town. The event raised over $20,000 in aid for the organization.
One of the most exciting events is the Annual Pet Contest held in conjunction with the NHRA National event held in Reading, Pa. Pat Schaeffer, who is the D.R.A.W. Division One Coordinator and a member of the D.R.A.W. Board of Trustees, hosts this event. This event is considered to be one of our more fun events. Racers from around the country send in photos of their pets to be displayed at the Reading event. The votes are measured in the dollar amount donated. The pet with the most votes wins the contest. Watch for details early next month regarding this event.
For those of you who will be attending the NHRA National event held in Dallas, stop by Saturday evening and enjoy an evening with D.R.A.W. in the Top Eliminator Club. This event would truly not be possible without the support of the Meyer family. Their support of the event makes it a huge success. As a matter of fact, this is one of the largest fundraising events of the year; it includes the honoring of the D.R.A.W. person of the year and organization of the year.
