Labor Day & NHRA U.S. Nationals Milestone

Labor Day in the United States is a federal holiday that takes place on the first Monday in September. The holiday began in 1882, originated from a desire by the Central Labor Union to create a day off for the “working man.”  Today, it is also for the “working woman.”  It is still celebrated mainly as a day of rest and marks the symbolic end of summer for many.

It is also celebrates the most popular NHRA event of all: the U.S. Nationals that has been taking place for over 50 years.  Entering the NHRA U.S. Nationals, John Force has just recorded his 125th Funny Car victory and Jeg Coughlin Jr. has also just earned his 50th victory.  These are huge milestones in the world of drag racing.
