Russ Guymon’s ’55 Chevy, from Keokuk, and Ken Chenoweth & Wayne Crandle’s 389 Pontiac powered ’37 Plymouth sedan, B/G, named the ‘Miss-Fit’ The unusual car not only won Street Eliminator several times at Kahoka, Wayne drove it to a gasser title at Des Moines Dragway. The duo hailed from Burlington, Iowa and Ken later built a Scotty Fenn, ‘Chassis Research’ Top Fuel car with a stroked Pontiac engine.

Tri State Dragway/Lee County Raceway: Russ Guymon was one of the original 10 Hot Rodders who created Tri State Dragway in 1960. His first C/Gas ’55 Chevy also ran a supercharger and was a hit at the brand new Sportsman Park Dragway in Keokuk.
