First wins of the season for Gatornationals racers

Tony Schumacher (far lane) ran 3.703/329.26 to defeat Antron Brown’s 3.764/322.65.

All of the pro class winners at the Gatornationals got their first wins of the season: Tony Schumacher (Top Fuel), John Force (Funny Car), Shane Gray (Pro Stock), and Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle).

Jonnie Lindberg surprised everyone by getting to the final round in his first time driving Jim Head’s Funn Car. He came up short with a 3.971/314.83 against John Force’s 3.928/328.14.

Shane Gray returned from a very short retirement to get the win with a 6.535/212.96 over Greg Anderson’s 6.560/213.43.

The Harleys rose to the top of the Pro Stock Motorcycle list with Eddie Krawiec almost breaking that 200-mph barrier with a 6.763 at 199.76 mph against teammate Andrew Hines, who ran 6.802/197.10

The trend continued with Pro Mod as Steven Whiteley got the win at the first J&A Services Pro Mod Series event of the year.

We’re still downloading and sorting photos from Ron Lewis, Steve Gruenwald, and Adam Cranmer and will have the complete race report tomorrow. [03/20/17]
