For years there have been big winter bracket races in Florida before and after the Christmas holidays. The tracks at West Palm Beach and Bradenton have had races for decades. Now a couple of racers, Mitch Clary and Mike Fuqua, and the owners of the drag strip in Immokalee, Fla., have a race scheduled for the weekend of November 7-10 with four days of racing.
Dragsters will run together and door cars will run separately until the final eight places on the ladder. Three major events will be run with the winners receiving $12,500, $7,500 and $5,000. Also on the schedule are a Dragster Shootout and a Junior Dragster competition. For more info call the track at 239-657-5954. (End of free ad.) [10/2/2012]
