DRO AA/FC Challenge at Maryland may still go on

Hold all tickets! Series administrator Jeff Burk has been talking to the other management principals at Capitol Raceway in Crofton, MD, and may be able to work together to keep the October date at the track.

A couple of other tracks also have come forward with offers to hold the final event of the DRO 2012 season. Burk says he will make the official announcement on Monday of where and when the season finale will be held. And who says race promoters have it easy? [9/27/2012]

NMCA LSX Shootout offers largest payout in LS drag racing history

The 6th Annual Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout, the largest LS event of the year, is fast approaching and offers racers the largest payout in LS drag racing history. This special event will take place as a part of the NMCA FueLab World Street Finals on Oct. 11-14 at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis. Big money and LSX bowtie blocks have been put up by Chevrolet Performance and their host dealer, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center, that will ensure all LSX racers have their combinations set "on kill" to claim the large bounty and yearlong bragging rights.

The LSX Shootout will offer three heads-up categories, Drag Radial, All Motor, and Real Street, along with two index classes, LSX Rumble and 5th Gen Camaro.  There will also be the hugely popular  LSX True Street class where racers make 3 back-to-back passes and the closest averages to 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 seconds each win $100 and and award.  The winners of the heads-up and index classes will each win a large purse, contingencies and an LSX bowtie block valued over $2,200. The True Street winner will take home cash, a 6' trophy and an LSX bowtie block. Chevrolet Performance and GM-High Tech Performance magazine have also put up cash, awards, and bonuses for the fastest 5th Gen Camaro, Firebird, Corvette, G8, GTO, Cadillac, and truck/SUV on the property ensuring plenty of excitement as LS racers take it to the limit.

Get free tickets to IHRA Summit World Finals at Memphis

The International Hot Rod Association and Summit Racing Equipment are offering complimentary tickets to the IHRA Summit Racing Equipment World Finals October 12-14 at Memphis International Raceway available only at www.IHRA.com. 

Racing will get underway on Friday, Oct. 12, with time trials and the first round of eliminations for the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Spectacular presented by AMSOIL. The Summit Sportsman Spectacular will conclude on Saturday, Oct. 13, with winners banking $5,000 and IHRA members filling the final few spots in the Summit Racing Equipment Tournament of Champions presented by AMSOIL.

Immediately following the completion of the last-chance TOC qualifier, time runs for the Summit Racing Equipment Tournament of Champions and Summit SuperSeries presented by AMSOIL and Moser Engineering will take place Saturday evening followed by Summit SuperSeries eliminations Saturday night.
