Repeated heavy rainstorms have caused flooding in much of the Pacific Northwest over the last couple of weeks. Medford, Oregon racer and racecar trailer dealer Ronnie Mankins sent us this photo of the starting line at Woodburn Dragstrip.
Hopefully the weather cooperates for the NWDRA Hi-Performance and Automotive Swap Meet happening this Sunday, January 29, at the Clark County Fairgrounds. Weather forecasters are predicting more rain, but we haven't seen boat drags added to the 2012 schedule at Woodburn... yet.

The Agent has been monitoring the entry lists for the Winternationals for the past few days, but just can’t wait any longer to make note of the fact that those entry lists seem kind of short.
With the first race of the NHRA season set to begin two weeks from today, there are 9 Top Fuel entries, 13 Funny Cars, 16 Pro Stocks, 10 Top Alcohol Dragsters and 15 TA Funny Cars. Hmmm. [1/26/2012]
Dave Ley of the East Coast Stock/Super Stock Circuit and Maple Grove Raceway vice president/general manager Lex Dudas have announced the formation of a four-race Money Trail Stock/Super Stock Shootout for 2012.
The four races will be run over two weekends on back-to-back days: May 19-20 and Aug. 11-12.
“The 2012 season marks the 50th anniversary of Maple Grove Raceway and we wanted to showcase these categories,” Dudas said. “The Money Trail was founded on NHRA class racing and in honor of our 50th we wanted to get back to our roots.”
A point system will be maintained and a points fund will be created paying the top five finishers in the series. Awards will be presented as part of the Money Trail Awards Banquet in February 2013. Points will be awarded based on the current Money Trail ET point structure.
Entry fee to race is $75 for one day and $140 for both days on a weekend. There is also a $25 Money Trail membership fee. The guaranteed purses are: $1,000 (Winner); $400 (Runner-up); $200 (Semifinalists); and $100 (Quarterfinalists). [1/26/2012]
