BRUTON MAKING AN ATTEMPT TO BUY ENGLISHTOWN?
A couple of very reliable sources tell the Agent the word around the Bruton Smith organization is that, in addition to the rumored offer to buy Dover Entertainment’s stable of race tracks, he is making an offer to buy Englishtown Raceway Park in New Jersey.
Whether the rumor is true or not remains to be seen, but we do know that the price has to be in the NINE-figure range as the E-town management said in the past that if someone offered them $200,000,000 they would be on an island in the Caribbean. (DRO file photo) [6/9/2008]
AUSSIE STEVENS WINS THREE PRO CLASSES AT SAME RACE AND TWO UNREAL SPEED NUMBERS COME UP ON THE BOARDS!

Last weekend’s Castrol EDGE Winternationals at Australia’s Willowbank Raceway concluded in record-breaking style, seeing one of the world record’s set June 7 smashed on June 8 and three more Australian records set and re-set while pass after pass had the bumper crowd on their feet.
After Hillcrest’s Gary Phillips ran the world’s fastest door car pass Saturday in Top Doorslammer (249.86mph/402.27kmh), Narangba’s Brett Stevens – whilst appearing in no less than three of the six Group One finals (Top Doorslammer, Top Alcohol and Top Bike) – blitzed it by running a 252.66mph/406.76kmh pass in the Doorslammer category.
Stevens’ fastest doorslammer ever follows on from the one he claimed Saturday by qualifying for what was Australia’s quickest Top Doorslammer field. By making it into the field, Stevens had the points to take the Top Alcohol championship and become the first person world-wide to take three professional bracket championships (07/08 Top Alcohol, 04/05 Top Bike, 03/04 Top Doorslammer).
