DRO PROJECT DRAGSTERS MAKE SEASON DEBUTS

Jok Nicholson’s newly rebuilt dragsters made their debuts at Cedar Falls, Iowa. The 620-inch Ohio Crankshaft/World Products/Chevy-powered S&W chassis dragster was driven by Nicholson’s son Andy. In 12 runs over the weekend ran consistent 7.60’s at just over 170 mph.

DRO’s bracket editor vacated the seat of Project 4-Link to drive a doorslammer (what!), giving the dragster driving duties to Jessie Shearer. The 572-inch Ohio Crankshaft/World Products Mopar-powered dragster turned in a best of 7.57/171.00. Engines for both cars are from Ohio Crankshaft.

Both dragsters made it to the quarter-finals in their first weekend of competition. Next up for Team DRO/TrailerToad.com is the NHRA LODRS event this weekend in Brainerd, MN.  (Barb Nicholson photos) [5/20/2008]
