WHAT HAPPENED TO US?

Good question. DRO, MoparMax.com and MaxChevy.com were off line and we were without email for most of the day on Monday, Oct. 2. Our server in Texas went down system-wide about 11:30 a.m. (CT) and didn’t get going again until nearly 8 p.m. With many people working feverishly further up the line, there was nothing that the Agent and the rest of the DRO staff could do to fix the situation. This is the first time in our eight years of publishing that we have had such a prolonged problem, and we apologize to our readers. DRO editor and publisher Jeff Burk will be cracking the whip extra hard to make up for the down time. Ouch! Movin’ it right along here, boss.  [10-3-2006]

PRESTON NAMED KNOLL’S DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Torco Race Fuels, Inc., has appointed Latrell Preston to the expanded role of Director of Operations for Knoll Gas Motorsports–Torco Race Fuels companies.

Preston, who already serves as Chief Financial Officer, for Knoll’s parent company, General Sales & Service, will direct the day-to-day motorsports operations as well as manage the various sponsorships of race teams and sanctioning bodies. He retains his position of second Vice President of GSS.

“Latrell has been my right hand for the last two years and someone I fully trust and see more than capable of directing this company,” company owner Evan Knoll said. “I probably would have pursued this sooner but we needed to fill some key infrastructure positions before we could step forward with this plan.

“It makes sense that he controls my sponsorships because he’s the one signing the checks anyway,” Knoll added.  (photo courtesy Knoll Gas-Torco Race Fuels)  [10-3-2006]
